Good News!

Our pre-authorization requirements have decreased.  The Alliance Board of Directors recently approved the following changes:

• No preauthorization required for outpatient or ambulatory surgical services except surgeries relating to the spine including injections to the spine.
• No preauthorization required for up to 12 regular Physical Therapy sessions within first 6 months of the date of injury, and up to 12-post-operative Physical Therapy sessions within the first 6 month post-surgery.
• No preauthorization required for 3 hours psychological testing with no more than four tests 9MMPI-2, BDI, BAI, P-3) All repeat psychological testing will require preauthorization.
• No preauthorization required for 6 psychotherapy visits or cognitive/behavioral therapy visits.

This reduction in required preauthorization does not change the statutory requirement that health care be reasonable and necessary and related to the compensable injury.
